The Grand Cayman Turtle Farm

The actual goal on my Bucket List is to “Watch Turtles Hatch & Run for the Ocean” and this was kind of close…sort of…ok, not really. But, the Cayman Turtle Centre was really cool and a new experience so that warrants at least a mention.

Cayman Turtle Farm

Our recent Swimming with the Stingray excursion included a trip to the Cayman Turtle Farm, an interactive experience that featured hundreds of these majestic creatures in all sizes. We walked from each pool ogling, petting and holding the different varieties, the largest being over 600 pounds.

You would think an animal that heavy would be scary, but the most frightening part was touching the turtle poop floating in the murky water and the two inch purple nails of the tour guide.

    • That is so freakin’ funny because our guide was telling us that you can get turtle burgers on the island, but it is really expensive because the meat is rare. Next time ;)

  1. Those finger nails are insane!  I had such a great time when I went to the turtle farm.  Since the island really doesn't have that much else to offer, it was my favorite things to do there.
