Being a business owner, I am fully aware of the unbalanced ratio between good and bad customer letters. Too many people will only correspond with a company when they are harboring a grudge, instead of praising them for their favorable experiences. And that’s why I added “Write a Thank You Letter to a Company” to my bucket list. Businesses need to know when they are doing something right too and so, I wrote a hotel thank you letter.
I was immediately charmed by Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle, Washington and I wanted them to know.
Dear Mayflower Park Hotel,
To begin, your directions on the best way to arrive to the Mayflower were flawless, meaning that even I didn’t get lost. Also, I was ecstatic (and so were my feet) when the light rail from the airport dropped us off just a block from the hotel.
When we were greeted at the reception, the nicest gentlemen thoroughly explained the details of the hotel. Even better, he made us aware of the complimentary wine tasting that was held nightly in the lobby. Definitely a man who knows the way to my heart. Just another reason for writing this hotel thank you letter.
I then arrived to my room, eager to drop off my bags and start exploring. To my surprise, a selection of local goodies awaited. This went above and beyond the simple chocolate on the pillow and the Chukar chocolate covered cherries were gone before I even opened my suitcase. I enjoyed the Market Spice Cinnamon-Orange Tea so much that I just had to purchase more when I returned home.
It wasn’t until I finished my cherries, that I took a look around the cozy mini-suite. It could be summed up in one word…charming. It was purely a bonus that the pillows were so comfortable that I had to write down the name of the manufacturer so I could have my own.
On more reason for this hotel thank you letter, we could not have asked for a better location, walking distance to…everything. Just 4 blocks from Pike Place Market.
Though, after I had blisters on my feet, we did decide to take the monorail, which we didn’t even have to go outdoors to catch, to the Space Needle. So convenient.
Also, a special thank you to the poor doormen who had to give us directions every single time we exited the building. They were patient and knowledgeable. Did I mention patient?
In summary, I do hope to stay at the Mayflower Park Hotel in the future because your staff was cordial, the rooms were comfy and the location was superb. Keep up the good work.
Have you ever written a hotel thank you letter or one to any company?
