Most of my time in Northern Italy was spent with my jaw dropped, nearly to the ground. There may have even been some dribbles of drool on my chin. There were stunning views everywhere.
It’s hard to narrow it down, but these are my favorite six Northern Italy Views.
The Best Northern Italy Views
1. Tuscan Countryside from Orvieto in Northern Italy
Just about any quaint town in Tuscany that is located on the tippy top of the hill will have this view. Bummer.

2. Rooftops from San Gimignano, Italy
Even the tiled rooftops in the quaint Northern Italy town of San Gimignano are Italian masterpieces.

3. Ponte Vecchio from a side street
Ponte Vecchio is the “Old Bridge” that spans over the Arno River. My favorite view of it was simply from a Northern Italy side street.

4. Florence from the top of the Duomo
After the adventure of scaling the 483 stairs of the Dumo in Florence, you will be rewarded with this stunning view.

5. Venice From the Valporetto
The first thing we did after arriving in Venice was hop on the #1 Valporetto. This waterbus hits every station along the Venice canal and is a fabulous way to tour the waterway.

6. Vernazza from the top of a StairweLl
There are spiraling, stone staircases throughout all the charming Northern Italy Cinque Terre towns. Climbing this one in Vernazza gave me a glimpse of the colorful homes and boats below.

What’s your favorite Northern Italy view? Have you seen any of these views?

Instead of the Duomo, I climbed the campanile opposite of it. I reasoned that having the Duomo in the foreground of my view would make it that much more spectacular. I was half-right; the duomo as the foreground was spectacular, but it's SO huge that it pretty much took up the entire view of the city!
I wish I would have done that one also, so I could have taken a photo of both views. I bet both views would be stunning.
What stunning views! I love Italy so much. :-) It seems that no matter where you stand there is something gorgeous or ancient or just plain interesting. :-)
So true. There are so many photo opportunities!
Stunning views!
Stunning in right – oh how I can't wait to get out there! Love the first photo – what a quaint house with a gorgeous view – I would never want to leave home!
