Witness Hong Kong’s Bucket List View at The Peak

I am a huge fan of going to one of the highest places in each city I visit to check out the view and to get my bearings. In Florence it was the top of the Duomo, Seattle the Space Needle and Georgia’s St. Simon’s was a lighthouse climb.  And almost every city has some sort of pinnacle […]

Visit an Offbeat Asian Market. Hong Kong’s Goldfish Market.

Hong Kong boasts a variety of markets and I went to just about every one of them. But, one stood out as a bucket list worthy event, probably because in all my travels I had never witnessed anything like it. The Goldfish Market is truly unique. And a bit quirky. Hong Kong’s Goldfish Market caters to […]

Ride A Cable Car & Take 268 steps to Tian Tan. Big Buddha.

It was 463 stairs to the top of the Duomo in Florence, 129 steps to the peak of the St. Simons Lighthouse in Georgia and now there are 268 stairs to reach Hong Kong's Tian Tan, the Big Buddha. Isn't Hong Kong known for the longest outdoor escalator in the World? Couldn't they figure this one out? Fine. […]

Take a Junk Boat Ride Through Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour

Seeing the Symphony of Lights was on my Hong Kong bucket list, mostly because I think light shows are cool, even without mind altering hallucinogens. Riding on a traditional Chinese junk boat in Asia also made the growing list. Boats are cool too. The famous Symphony of Lights laser show does a display that runs throughout the […]

My Biggest Regret on the Road to Hana in Maui

Driving the picturesque Road to Hana in Maui was a more than memorable adventure. Though, the choice to make the nine hour trek all in one day meant that certain sacrifices would have to be made. Never did I think that not jumping off a cliff would be called a sacrifice. My biggest regret on the Road to Hana […]

Eat Creamy Goat Cheese Truffles at Maui’s Surfing Goat Dairy

While spending the day in Paia we had a delicious lunch at Flatbread pizza. So tasty that we went back the next night too. What made it so great? Their menu items feature local and organic products, one of those products being a creamy and mild goat cheese from Surfing Goat Dairy. Luckily, this farm was […]

Do a Liquor Tasting at a Portland Distillery

Amongst industrial warehouses and businesses in Portland lies a handful of distilleries which produce an array of unique liquors. This, frequently visited, area is known as Distillery Row and once you get tired of the downtown pubs, you must venture to drink at a Portland Distillery. There are five liquor houses that make up Distillery Row though we only went […]

Unsuccessful Alligator Hunting at a Golf Course in Georgia

Most people go to a golf course to..uh, you know…golf. Unless you are me, then you go to one of the best golf courses in Georgia to hunt for alligators. The King and Prince Golf Course on St. Simons Island is a sprawling eighteen hole example of lush greenness and surrounded by beautiful marshes where alligators […]

Take a Beach Bike Ride on St. Simons Island in Georgia

On a recent press trip to Georgia, the group of writers were given the option to rent bikes to tour St. Simons Island during their free time. Not wanting to miss any opportunity for adventure, I opted in hoping that the "it's like riding a bike" saying rings true even when the activity is actually riding a bike.  My last […]

Visit the 611 Foot Multnomah Waterfall in Oregon

Though it was hard to break away from downtown Portland's foodie haven, I needed something else to do besides stuffing my face all day. Bonus if it will burn any of the thousands of excess ingested calories. So, we headed out of town for a short half-day, waterfall hiking trip. Multnomah Falls is a 611 foot cascading […]
