Impractical Four Inch Travel Espadrilles

Steve Madden Travel EspadrillesI have a love-hate relationship with shoes in general, especially travel shoes. I love wearing high-heels everyday and my feet hate me for it. The problem: I adore wearing pretty shoes that make my back ache, but legs look fab. The second problem: Four inch Travel Espadrilles are extremley impractical. The third problem: I own a restaurant where I spend 60+ hours standing per week and stilettos are personally prohibited because the calluses on my feet say that it is close to impossible to bus tables, host and cook in 4 inch hooker-style pumps.

So, I am on the constant hunt to find cute, comfortable shoes for work and travel. Please, don't tell me to buy Clogs, Crocs or Danskos, they can make them in a Mary Jane and still not be fashionable.

Unfortunately, the Steve Madden Travel Espadrille does not solve much of the comfort issue, but they are fantastic. I have been coveting this style shoe since Jennifer Aniston wore the way more expensive Stuart Weitzman Espadrille version in 2009 while filming the movie "The Bounty". Not wanting to fork over the $365, Madden came up with a very believable alternative for just 80 bucks.

Though, they have become my impractical travel Espadrilles, I still bring them on almost every adventure. Usually they only make it through a couple hour dinner, but they sure look good.

  1. I have been dying to buy the Stuart Weitzman's since the Bounty Hunter as well!  (They were the only thing I liked about the movie).  Invested in a pair of the Steve Madden black ones this season, have yet to wear them as I also am on my feet a lot (I own a wine retail store and average about 60-65 hrs/week).  I've been on a kick with wedges at work though, they seem to be *slightly* more comfortable than stilettos and more stylish than my flats.

    • Sounds like you work on your feet just as much as me!! I wore these shoes on vacation and they were quite comfy, considering the have a 4 1/2 inch heel

  2. Great Find! And wow they look just like the Stuart version. The worst fall I have ever experienced was the result of a pair of Espadrilles and I've been skittish of them ever since. These might make me reconsider.

  3. I was a little ahead of my time and wore espadrilles in high school-other kids made fun of me and I could never wear them again.
Yes, heels do wonderful things for the legs but I just can't do them.

  4. There are some really cute shoes out there, but they are all designed by men who don't have to wear them.
